I’m fascinated with a lot of things. From atoms, to ants, to plants, to skyscrapers. It’s almost rare to find something that I’m not fascinated with. Yeah, I’m kind of just like that. Since I haven’t posted a real post on this blog in ever so long, I’ve decided to share some of my mind boggling -for me anyway, but then again, I’m kind of weird like that- “fascinations” with you.
{COLORS} Have you ever thought about it? I love color. I like some more than others, but I really can’t bring myself to “hate” any,
they all just fit so beautifully into the world. Speaking of which… I wonder what the world would look like without color? I gave myself a headache thinking about that too hard yesterday as we drove to ARC. Maybe I shouldn’t think too hard anymore. But what would the world look like if all the color just dripped out of everything? Would it be white? No… that’s all colors combined. Logically, that’s a color. Would it be brown, gray, or black? Nope, those are colors too… is there a color that’s colorless?? What does a person without eyes see? Do they see a color? No, they can’t see. Try imagining not seeing the color black -or any color for that matter- when you close your eyes. Maybe that’s what gave me the headache. Fascinating.
{MUSIC} This is going to get repetitive. I’m going to end up saying “I love ___” for every little category, cause
I’m sorry, I just love music. Really, think about it. Where did it start? Did Adam and Eve just randomly start singing “All You Need Is Love”? Uh, no. I laughed thinking about that. It started with things they were familiar with. Things like the wind, and the rain. The sound of a bird singing the first song of the dawn. Now fast forward a few thousand years to the present. I listen to the music we have now, and it’s the neatest thing. It actually creates different moods. It’s as if it goes in our ears in into our brain and effects some nerve that makes us feel a certain way. And this is the same thing that was originally the sound of wind and rain. I don’t know the real science behind all this, but either way, it’s incredible. Fascinating.
{WORDS} Sometimes it feels like I have multiple personalities. As my mom says, I’ll be quiet as a mouse, while other times, I talk… a lot. Probably too much, so I think I like the former more. Cause the only reason I’m so quiet sometimes is because I just like
to listen. To words. They’re very fascinating, if you ask me. I wonder how Adam and Eve communicated… and then I wonder what language it would have been. Weird how much can be communicated by just making noises. Like in Star Wars, those creatures that just communicate with making clicky sounds. Or R2-D2 just making those beeping noises, and somehow people understood him. I always thought that was the weirdest thing. I actually find myself thinking “Wow, imagine what it would be like to communicate solely by making noises with your teeth and tongue!” Uh, hold on a second. That’s what we do. Kind of odd. Isn’t it also weird that you can determine what tone I’m using when I type this? Like when there’s a question mark, the voice in your head that’s reading this automatically goes up a little to imply it’s a question, not a statement. I’m really glad I wasn’t around at the tower of Babel where English originated, it would have been so confusing. At the same time, I think I’d like to go back in a time machine just to observe that moment. Words are incredible. Fascinating.
{BOOKS} Right now I’m reading -and almost through with- Saint by Ted Dekker. It’s amazing. How on earth does he do that?? How can any author
write like that? Make characters that seem real. Like they were really alive at some point, instead of just inside someone’s head and on a page. Where I am in the book, the main character, Johnny Drake, is running from his enemy who prefers to go by his codename I suppose you could call it, Englishmen. As you’re reading the book you can feel the tension and excitement at the same time. It’s just letters on a page– and those same letters on a page can make you sob, laugh, smile, frown, etc. Fascinating.
Yeah, I’m fascinated with a lot of things. That was maybe 5% of them. I suppose you could say…
I’m fascinated with being alive.
Cool.. I Think we think alike…. You know whats really fun to do? so imagine this one “Wa wa Wa… Wa wa. wa wa..” you know Charlie brown adults”… or any intonation for that matter and then try to copy it one your Violin….( if you do this while someone is talking it annoys them… but sometimes they think it funny too.. I guess it depends on the intent
I’ve also had thoughts like… Whoo… I’m here.. like I exsist… I think you get the picture….
Maybe it’s a musician thing.

Haha, wow… yeah, I can see people being annoyed with that– but I’m personally not one of those people.
Yeah, it’s an amazing thing… being alive… I mean there are only six billion people or something alive on the earth, and to be one of those six billion is incredible. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not exist?? It’s a silly thought, but for me, it’s kind of mind-boggling…
This is _totally_ awesome. Seriously. =) And you are rather hysterical, btw.
Oh, funny truth: a few years ago my little sister Anna just randomly asked, “when did we first get color?’ And we were all like.. ‘um, it’s been around pretty much forever’. And then we discovered that she actually thought that color itself originated with color photography. =) That was funny.
Really honest and truly?? I’ve always wanted to be hysterical…
Wow… if color had originated with color photography, I think we all would have died or something before then… I personally couldn’t live without color for longer than two minutes… but I mean, it’s not like I’ve never seen anything without color… whoa, that’s weird. Even black and white is color. No wait. Oh great… I think I’m getting another headache.
I often find myself fascinated by the same types of things. It’s very pleasant to think about simple things, isn’t it? It always makes me very cheerful.
Oh, just so you know, KT, the link to my blog on this blog is wrong, I deleted that one and moved to…the one I’m linking to now. Clear as mud?
Blessings,
Taylee
Yesh, makes me cheerful as well.
hmm… oh yesh that’s right… I should prolly change that… unfortunately, I haven’t updated hardly anyone in my blogroll lately… =/ I guess I should get around to that.
I actually read this a while ago… like right when you posted it, but I didn’t leave a comment. So, I’d like to say, great post!
Very cool. I am fascinated with all that too. Update thy blog, if thou pleasest. Thank thee.
