Well, the name of this entry kind of says it all. November is fading away, and December is upon us. Actually, I am posting simply because I felt like I needed to say something so ya’ll won’t stop visiting.
Some things I have learned over the past month:
- November goes by really quickly if you are trying to write a 50,000 word book by the end of the month.
- That debating unprepared is not fun. The only good thing about it is that you have an excuse to do bad.
- That it’s really annoying when big sisters post YOUR beautiful pictures that YOU took, and people say “Oh what lovely pictures!! Good job Beth [or Toni, or whoever else wants to be mean and take credit for MY pictures.]!!”
- That I really miss my mp3. And I mean REALLY. *sniff*
- That it’s fun to put “The End” at the end of things.
Some stuff I discovered I liked since the begining of the month:
MOVIES THAT I HAVE DISCOVERED I LIKE:
“The Sandlot” – “The Village” – “That Thing You Do”
MUSIC I HAVE DISCOVERED I LIKE:
The Village soundtrack – Finding Nemo soundtrack – National Treasure soundtrack – Life is a Highway (Rascal Flatts) – Sunlight (Reilly) – While I’m Waiting (John Waller)- The Fox (Nickel Creek)
THE END.

So today, I had to say goodbye to a very dear friend of mine. His name was Alvin. Now despite Alvin waking the whole house up at night, escaping and climbing through walls and into our attic, always eating all the potatos in the pantry, and whatever else he could reach, and chewing up board game boxes and posters, Alvin was a good friend. And I shall miss him. I suppose you are wondering exactly who, and what Alvin is. Well…Alvin Winifred Hampson the 1st was my hamster. And the cutest one ever, too. He loved peanut butter, cinnamin grahm crackers, roasted pumpkin seeds, oatmeal cookies, and aparently he liked cardboard, and walls, too.
Wow…scary picture we have here…I look like I’m killing him or something…Anyhow, Alvin was a good friend. Farewell, Alvin Winifred Hampson the 1st. And may the force be with you. This is what happens when it seems the only movie you watch anymore is Star Wars.

(NOTE: For those of you who aren’t familiar with debate lingo- this simply means practice tournament.
)
So this past Saturday, I reluctantly got up at 5:04 AM to go to this tournament. I got up, printed my speech, hunted down my uncomfortable debate attire, and left. Yup, that’s about it. Thus my disheveled appearance. And since the computer that I am writing this on has none of my beautiful pictures that I took at the tournament, I will simply have to copy Beth’s pictures off of her post. I know, terrible, aren’t I? Though I DID take some of those…so its not like I am stealing or anything.

Me and my former debate partner. I now join her in her quest to find out how to debate LD style. Which means you are all alone. And its depressing. Oh well- I live with it.

Danielle and Christina. Nothing more to say.

I took this, uh, loverly picture we have here. Aren’t you impressed? Anyhow, Beth and Jonathan evidently had fun.
Yeah. I had a lot of random pictures that I liked…but they aren’t uploaded to this computer. And it makes me sad.
I had pictures of everything from sprite cans to, to- well, you can imagine the other random things I have pictures of. Oh well. It was your average tournament. Crowded hallways filled with people memorizing their speeches right before their rounds, scary peoples snapping scary pictures of random people–which means if you see someone with a camera, hide–bags of chocolate, timer lady’s recruiting little seven year olds to time (and whoever else was willing- hey, the reward for timing was chocolate, and who wouldn’t go for that??), the usual mob of people when someone yells “BALLOTS!!” …etc. You get the idea. I only competed in my Original Oratory. It was on music. And I did better than I thought I would do with it–not that that means I did GOOD, just better than usual.
–Yup. And over all, t’was a grand tournament.

So the other day, we went to Office Depot to get Ethos printed for Beth. While we were waiting, we went to look at computers. It was your normal trip to Office Depot, annoying employees asking if they could help every five minutes when all you want to do is look. But all the same, that’s where it happened. I fell in love with a computer. And not just any computer. A mini laptop.
See? I warned you, I am random. Any how…yeah, I want one. That is the interestingest [my new word] thing I can come up with for now, from lack of anything exciting going on around here. Oh yes, I suppose this is rather exciting. TONI IS OFFICIALLY A GROWNUP NOW. She has a drivers license, and a job. Three cheers for Toni. You can imagine the cheers yourself, I don’t feel like cheering right now.
My speech is now officially done. That is…for this Saturday. I assure you- It will go through a lot of stages throughout the year. I should probably go memorize it now…ugh.

I, Katy, hereby mark this day as a new beginning. A new life. A new blog. Why, you may ask? Well…simply because everyone else has a wordpress blog -whats more it seems HSB is getting worse and worse- and I wanted to join in. Alison, Amy, Hailey, Taylor, all those HSB buddy’s- sorry. Please don’t totally abandon me yet, though. I might post occasionally on my other blog…just know that I don’t post much over there anymore. Enjoy reading!!!

Picture to prove that it is ME, and none other.
